Tonkawa’s fast pitch softball team fell to Caney Valley 7-8 in a close ball game Monday night.
The loss evens out the Lady Bucs’ record to 5-5 on the young season after picking up several wins in the Frontier Tournament last weekend.
The Lady Bucs were to play Pawhuska Tuesday night and participate in the North Country Tournament this weekend.
Tuesday, Aug. 18, Tonkawa beat Nowata 8-3.
Alyssa Pando scored three runs, Kenzie Glenny two and Jaci Johnson, torrie simmons and autumn roberts one each.
Pando had three hits, Sarah Sherron two, Skylee Perkins two and taylor Mercer one. Perkins had a double. Perkins had four RBI’s and Pando two.
Mercer pitched seven innings, striking out six.
In the first game of the Frontier tournament Friday, Aug. 21, the Lady Bucs fell 0-5. Perkins hit a triple. singles were hit by Perkins, Pando and Johnson. Mercer pitched five innings, striking out five.
In the Friday nightcap, tonkawa beat Agra 14-4. Johnson, Pando and Jules Thompson all had doubles. Perkins hit a triple.
Pando had three RBI’s, Johnson two, Perkins, Sherron, Thompson and Mercer one each. Morgan Hall had a stolen base.
Pando scored three runs, Glenny, Johnson and Rylee Hampton two each and sherron, Thompson and Mercer one each.
Mercer pitched four innings, striking out eight.
In the first Saturday, Aug. 22, game vs. Pawnee, the Lady Bucs won 4-2. Johnson scored twice, Glenny and Perkins one each.
Johnson doubled and had two singles. Perkins had three singles. Pando, Mercer and thompson also singled.
Perkins had two RBI’s and Sherron one.
Perkins also had a stolen base.
