To any and all who have been apart of the Good Fix event, both this year and in the past, it will come as no surprise that, yet again, the Northern Oklahoma Humane Society (NOKHS) and the Greater Good Charities had an incredible reach within the surrounding communities again this year.Their goal with the Good Fix program has always been to reach as many cats and dogs as they possibly can. During the last round of sterilizations that were held on February 13 through 16, the group were able to get through a number of cats and dogs that received spaying/ neutering, vaccinations, microchipping, and flea/tick treatment for the Good Fix event. Well, those numbers are in and the team was able to surpass their goal and their numbers from past good fixes with a total of 1,020 cats and dogs during the four days that the program was in Ponca City.“This outstanding achievement is a beacon of hope, illuminating the path towards a future where our furry friends thrive,” says NOKHS.It is due to the devotion of NOKHS and the Greater Good Charities, that this event continues to return to Ponca City. On top of them, none of it would have been possible without the numerous volunteers and donors from the community. Seeing over 1,000 animals in four days is extremely hard work once you see what goes into the program and the people at the Good Fix donating their time, money, location, or energy are so appreciated. Those sponsors and donors include Suzanne Boettcher, Nancy Frost, Allison Watson-Melendez, Sammie Coats, Kirby Family, Emilia Seubert, Valinda Goeppinger, Tracy Biddle, Larry Bittman, Sherry Jackson, Judi Newland, Frances Conrad, Craig and Katie Baby, Dondi Rowe, Jardene Whitefield, Deborah Greer, Alan Keller, Linda Kathleen Vannest, Martha Action, Cathy Derusha, Cheryl and Kelly Johnson, Amber Bakker-Scott, Christ Thompson, Tasha Burke, Lilly Steichen, and Joanna Smith. NOKHS also thanked PYE, Vortex Alley Brewing, the Ponca City Trailblazers Rotary Club, and City Central for their help in setting up Donation Drives to support the event and Northern Oklahoma Humane Society. Finally, NOKHS had this to say for their last thank you, “ a HUGE shoutout to all of our community volunteers and our hardworking shelter staff who have poured their hearts and souls into making this clinic a success! We are humbled by the overwhelming help and support.”If you are looking to help out the NOKHS ...
