by Good week, Tonkawa! Football bested OK Union last week and will take on Pawnee this week at home for senior night. Additionally, several students are getting ready for the Powderpuff game, which will raise funds for charity and be held November 4.The Tonkawa Academic Team is on a roll so far. Adding four more games–two against Pawhuska and two against Newkirk– their record comes to ten wins to one loss. They will add, be it wins or losses, to the record this week on Wednesday against Morrison in Tonkawa, our first hosted match. The Academic Team is also putting on Adult Quiz Bowl next Tuesday as a fundraiser. There are four or five people on a team, so be sure to sign up!The General Tommy Franks Mobile Museum will pay a visit to the school to speak with the sophomores and juniors about the General Tommy Franks Four Star Leadership Camp. As a Four Star alumna, I can personally note the importance of the camp and the impact it has left on my life. I would implore any student able to apply to submit an application for this opportunity of a lifetime. With the presidential election on the horizon, the quote of the week belongs to Abraham Lincoln: “The best way to predict your future is to create it.”Go Bucs!
