The Tonkawa Buccaneers lit up the scoreboard to the delight of a large Homecoming crowd Friday night in a 65 - 8 rout over Caney Valley running their record to 3-2 and 2-0 in District play.The fireworks began early with rushing touchdowns coming from seven different Buc players. Clayton Lopeman and Cayden Duvall rushed for 136 and 135 yards respectively with two touchdowns from Lopeman and one from Duvall. Kace Tautfest had 22 yards and a touchdown, Lucas Kieth added a touchdown with 22 yards, and Louden Alexander had 51 yards rushing and a touchdown. Barrick Wano and Freshman AJ Johnson each recorded touchdown’s with 87 and 60 yards respectively.The defense came close to recording its second shut out in a row allowing a late touchdown with the game well in hand. The leading tacklers were nose guard Hayden Grell with 8 tackles and Kace Tautfest and Mathew Gottman recording 5 each.Cayden Duvall finished his offensive output with touchdown passes of 18 & 87 yards to Westyn Freeman and Barrick Wano respectively. According to the Schedule the Bucs travel to Pawhuska for another district game at 7:00 Thursday night.Come support them and help them in their quest for a State Playoff spot!
