For the last two and a half years, the Northern Oklahoma Humane Society, in partnership with OK Humane, have been able to sterilize and administer medications to numerous animals both in Ponca City and the surrounding communities. The spay and neuter clinics were thanks to OK Humane’s Statewide Initiative Mobile Spay and Neuter Unit is a surgery site on wheels that has been able to bring spay and neuters, as well as other vital veterinary wellness services to local pets who need it. These clinics allowed community members who might need assistance in financing these health services a more cost efficient alternative to a regular veterinarian visit. Unfortunately, due to challenges in reaching minimum capacity for the clinics, NOKHS will be hosting for the final time on September 16. This service has been a tremendous help to citizens and the communities will be sad to see it go.“We are deeply grateful for their collaboration and the positive impact they’ve made in our community. We appreciate the ongoing work they do for the state of Oklahoma,” says Northern Oklahoma Humane Society in regard to the work they have done with OK Humane. While there will no longer be these clinics after September, community members still have the opportunity to utilize this service for the final time on September 16.
