God put wings on our angel, Brenda Lee Lawless, on August 10, 2024. Brenda was born to Richard Minihan and Violet (Murphy) Minihan on February 7, 1948. On August 11, 1983, she married Glenn Ray Lawless, the love of her life. From a previous marriage to J. S. Emerson, she had three daughters, Jennifer Emerson of Tonkawa, Oklahoma, Jayme Lowe (Kevin) of Skiatook, Oklahoma, and Jessica Kreiner (Matt) of Hurst, Texas, and the girls gifted her with seven beautiful grandchildren and four beautiful great-grandchildren. Brenda graduated from Wellington Senior High School, Wellington, Kansas, Class of 1966. Brenda worked for the Wellington Daily News and eventually moved to Shidler, Oklahoma where she owned the Shidler Review, publishing and writing articles for the paper. She went to Kaw City and owned the Kaw City Rambler also publishing and writing. She moved on to Garrett Denture Clinic where she worked for several years and then retired. Brenda loved her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, camping, fishing, flowers, knitting, sewing, bingo and casinos. She was a beautiful, sweet soul with a sharp wit and a clever joker. Brenda is survived by her husband, Glenn, of the home, her three daughters, Jennifer, Jayme and Jessica, grandchildren Meredith Lee (Shawn), Lauren Heuston (Kiefer), Mitchell Lowe, Jace Lowe, Abby Lowe, Derrick Lowe and Cameron Kreiner, and four great grandchildren, Preston Lee, Maycee Lee, Madden Murray, and Maverick Heuston. She was also survived by brothers Mike (Jill) Minihan of Sand Springs, Richard (Emelia) Minihan of Tulsa and sister Laura Minihan of Sand Springs. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Nancy Rueda, sister Connie Minihan-Rolen, former husband J. S. Emerson, great grandson Parker Lee and her precious maltese Callie Lou. A come and go celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Carolyn Renfro Center, Fireside Room, 445 Fairview Avenue, Ponca City, Oklahoma, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.
