The derby was conducted by Tonkawa Jaycees, Len Coffey and John Burton, co-chairman.Winner of the event for the children was Brad Burns, who also won the second preliminary event. Second place was won by Darren Moore; third, Jeff Burton and fourth, Brad Burns. Prizes were awarded as follows for the final event: first, $10; second, $5; third, $3 and fourth, $2.Preliminary event winners and their prizes were: First preliminary, Joyce Deem, first $4; Joyce Deen, second, $3; Scott Love, third, $2; Bruce Mc-Carroll, fourth, $2.Second preliminary, Brad Burns, first, $4; Joyce Martin, second, $3; Anita Deem, third, $2; Lori McKinney, fourth, $1.Third preliminary, Darren Moore, first, $4; Brad Burns, second, $3; Jeff Burns, third, $2; and Mark Martin, fourth, $1.Winners in the races for adult entries were: Paul Hayes, first, $10; John Schatz, second, $7.50; Teena Wycoff, third, $5; and Roxanne Schatz, fourth, $2.50.Old Fath Home Moved To New Location A three story house, built in 1910, was moved 5 ¾ miles here last week to a new location south east of the city. The house was purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Joe Brining from Mr. and Mrs. Roy Fath. Its original location was two miles north east of the city and it was moved to 1 ¼ miles south of the city. Davenport Moving Co., of Ponca City moved the house, estimated to weigh 80,000 pounds. Special arrangements had to be made to raise power and telephone lines to make the trip. The work was started Wednesday and completed at 2:30 p.m. Thursday.Marvin Blubaugh Purchases Part of Old 101 Ranch Tonkawa area farmer Marvin Blubaugh purchased a 227 acre plot of ground which was once the ranch of the late Jack Webb, a performer in the famed 101 Ranch Traveling show, last Saturday at an auction sale near Marland. The last few hundred acres of the historic 101 Ranch were auctioned off for a total of $198,000. Blubaugh purchased 227 acres for $167,000 and a Ponca City man, Melburn Leche, purchased the old 101 Ranch Headquarters and the remaining land surrounding it, 70 acres, for $31,000.Blubaugh has not announced his plans for the land.
