City Wide Garage Sales – August 3rd Good Vibrations Car Show – August 17th Downtown Trick or Treating – October 31 Olde Tyme Christmas – December 5th.First Annual Artifact ID Day – Ponca City, Ok.Saturday, July 20th, 10:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.The Oklahoma Anthropological Society will host Artifact Identification Day on Saturday, July 20th where anyone may bring objects they have discovered and learn about them from experts.The program is free, sponsored by the Oklahoma Anthropological Society and held at the Pioneer Woman Museum, Ponca City, Ok.Although identification of projectile points is subjective at best, local avocational archeologists will identify the items to the best of their ability and provide insights about the history connected to them.Artifacts will be examined on a first-come, first-served basis, and participants should limit their collections to no more than 20 objects.Experts will not appraise or speculate about the value of the items.The Oklahoma Archeological Survey has recorded at least 534 prehistoric and historic sites in Kay County, Oklahoma alone.“Oklahoma’s archaeological record dates back over 14,000 years to the end of the last ice age,” Oklahoma residents regularly encounter artifacts and evidence of the historic and prehistoric past. This program provides an opportunity for people who have found artifacts to learn more about their discoveries, and about Oklahoma’s archaeological heritage.Pioneer Woman Museum is located at 701 Monument Road, Ponca City, Oklahoma.This weekend at the Ponca City Gospel JubileeSACRED CALL Will be featured at the Ponca City Gospel Jubilee Saturday night July 20th at 6:30 p.m., doors open at 5 p.m. $5.00 donation at the door.Sacred Call is a Southern Gospel Quartet based out of Claremore, Oklahoma. Although the current iteration of singers is new, the individual and collective experience of its members is extensive.As a ministry, Sacred Call is committed to preserving the rich heritage of Southern Gospel Music and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ through a mix of classic, southern, country and slightly newer gospel music songs.
