Tonkawa Board of Education met Monday, June 10, 2024 when President Brian Bowling called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Members present were Brian Bowling, Jerry Hook, Tyler Langston and Melanie Bellinghausen.Minutes of the May 13, 2024 regular meeting and the minutes of the May 21, 2024 special meeting were read and the board voted to approve the minutes.The board began talking through the General Fund purchase order in the amount of $150,510.71. $90,000 of this amount was to be approved for the new flooring at the elementary school, after approving a $94,000 amount for the new high school floors in their last meeting. All of this is 795 money, the tailed of their ESSER funds, that must be used by June 30th. Three openings in June for their CDL Program for bus drivers are available in the bumper to bumper program. After winning a smart board, the school decided to purchase more. Their plan is to replace the smart boards in the technology department, who are currently working with 15 year old smart boards or more. They plan to start with PK and move all the way to 2nd when replacing the smart boards. These issues along with others will be addressed with the General Fund purchase order. All present members of the board voted to approve the $150,510.71 purchase order.A discussion to vote to approve or not approve Building Fund purchase order in the amount of $5 was held. This is a charge by quality water for a service done at the schools. All present members of the board voted to approve the $5 purchase order.Discussion and vote to approve or not approve submitting Joe D. Hal General Contractors, LLC. invoice number 13 in the amount of $438,813.70 to BancFirst for payment using bond funds was held. After looking over the invoice, all present members of the board voted to approve the $438,813.70 invoice.Activity fund transfers were next on the agenda. For many years, the funds for the sports of Cross Country, Track, and Wrestling have been in separate accounts and with this hearing they were looking to combine them into the already established Athletics account. As these sports use money out of both their own accounts and the Athletics account, more efficient to dissolve these separate accounts into the Athletics account.
