Peckham Public School is sending six track and field qualifiers to state, beating the previous record of five qualifiers in 2023, according to coach Kenzie Ward.The ORES State Championship will be held in Shawnee, OK, on Saturday, April 20.The following are the area students who qualified and their events/times from Regionals: Levi Vowell, 8th grader of Blackwell, OK: 3rd place in the 200m dash with a time of 28.49 seconds and also took 2nd place in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 18.20 seconds.Tayton Hazelwood, 7th grader of Tonkawa, OK: 2nd place in 300 meter hurdles with a time of 58.71 seconds and placed 2nd in high jump with a height of 4’6”.Hayden Johnson, 8th grader of Blackwell, OK: 4th place in high jump with a height of 4’2”.Jae-Lynne Kelley, 8th grader of Blackwell, OK: 2nd place in long jump with a distance of 13’4.5”.Whitley Wesbrook, 6th grader of Newkirk, OK: 4th place in 300 meter hurdles with a time of 1:23.55 and 4th place in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 25.02 seconds.Emmalyn Miller, 8th grader of Blackwell, OK: 2nd place in 200 meter dash with a time of 31.03 seconds and 3rd place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.32 seconds.
