Tonkawa Jaycees Win Awards At State Board Dick Pearman, Tonkawa Jaycee won first place in Keyman competition at the Jaycee State Board Meeting, Nov. 9-10 at Enid. He also placed third in Open Speakup competition.Don Jeans, sponsored by Tonkawa Jaycees, won the Outstanding Young Farmer for the state award. In ROC competition, Tonkawa Jaycee Golf Tournament held in the summer.Dee Hall, internal vice president, and project chairman said the tournament enabled the chapter to win first in Community Involvement competition. It was also announced that the local chapter is in second place in the state in point standings. Terry VanLandingham entered Brownfield and Open Speakup competition.Muggs Announce Sale of Agency To Jim Menzer Announcement of the sale of the Mugg Insurance Agency by Mr. and Mrs. Everett Mugg to Jim Menzer, Blackwell insurance man was announced today. The agency will be known in the future as the Menzer-Mugg Agency and will maintain offices in the same location, 109 East Grand.The Muggs have owned the agency for the past 22 years and will continue with the firm in the employ of Menzer. Mugg said today there will be no interruption in the service to policy holders and “we will continue to work for Mr. Menzer to serve you.”Social Club Has Sixtieth AnniversaryThe 60th annual Thanksgiving dinner honoring families of members of the Tonkawa Social Club was held Saturday, Nov. 10, at VFW Hall.The U-shaped dining table was laid in white and centered with two arrangements made by Mrs. Joe Yowell. The arrangements were of chrysanthemums in black pottery vases and featured the numbers “60”.Mrs. Oscar Brown gave the invocation and the Lord’s prayer was prayed in unison.Following the dinner, card games were played.
