Tonkawa midhi teams swept Alva Monday night in football action at Buc Stadium.The 5th-6th grade team won 20-0 and the eighth graders won 22-20.Clayton Eudailey scored all three Buc touchdowns on runs of 71, 36 and 27 yards. The one two-point conversion came on the second Eudailey TD on a Cruse Sparks pass to Rylata Majewsis.Keifer Standsblack covered a fumble and tipped two passes late in the game to help the Bucs hang on for an eighth grade 2220 win over the Goldbugs.Maddex Ewy threw two touchdown passes, the first to Brogan Wano from 15 yards out and the second to A.J. Johnson from 11 yards away. The other TD came on a one yard run by Johnson.Asher Saludares ran for the two point conversion after he first TD and Ewy hit Carter Lopeman for the second one on a PAT pass. The PAT run failed on the other TD.Alva tied the game at 8-8 on a 10 yard pass play and then trailed 16-8 until the Goldbugs used a 60 yard flea-flicker to get within two at 16-14.The Bucs quickly went up 22-14 and that’s how the score stood at halftime.Alva pulled within 20-22 late in the third quarter. During the fourth quarter, Tonkawa got to the Alva 10 and three, but failed to cross the goal-line.The 7th grade will play at Pawnee at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 2 followed by the 8th grade game.
