Hello Tonkawa! We officially have two weeks of school under our belts now.Last week the football boys beat Newkirk 46-31; what better way to kick off our first football game than with a win? Our next game is on the eighth, against Perry at Perry. Softball lost to Shidler and Crescent, but we beat Fairview. This week, they will face off against Morrison, Crescent, and Pawnee. Our cross country team went to Kingfisher this past Saturday and will not have another meet until the twelfth.Academic Bowl commenced this week with its first practice during lunch on Tuesday. The dates of the matches are not yet determined, though they soon will be.Another thing that is new this year is that rather than the band playing in the halls and the cheerleaders cheering for pep assemblies on game days, they now play and cheer in the parking lot before school on set Fridays.We were off Monday, September 4 for Labor Day, meaning our week is only four days long, but with all these sports going on and classes picking up in difficulty, there is no shortage of work to be done.
