Cameron Jackson is the 94th qualifier for the THS Danny Blubaugh Memorial All-StarShowcase. Cameron (Cam) qualified as an Oklahoma Coaches Association (OCA) selection to the 2022 All-St ate football team. Cam was selected as a running back on the East offense and was coached by Mike Kirtley and plans to play in the OCA 2023 All-St ate football game on July 28 at Oklahoma Baptist University (OBU) field in Shawnee, Oklahoma.Cameron’s parents are Randy Jackson and stepmother, Sheila Jackson, Mother Yolanda Jackson, his sisters are Kayla, Kelsey, and Courtney Jackson.Cam participated in football for four years. He was selected as All -District his Junior year at THS.His senior year Cam was selected as the offensive MVP in class A-5, team captain, and selected to the OCA 2023 All Star by Class in Class A and the OCA All -State football team as a running back. In 2022 Cam was also selected for the Tonkawa News Chris Lucas award.Cam was invited to play in the 2023 Pawnee Bill football All -Star classic in Pawnee. Cam agreed to play in the 2023 Pawnee Bill classic; his All-Star team won in a close game 21-20. Cam scored one touchdown and gained about 12S yards as a running back.Cam played at 5 ft- 5 inches and lS0 lbs. as a senior. THS has had very few running backs to be selected to the OCAAll-State team. So, for Cam to be selected to the 2022 OCA All-State team as a running back in football while playing for a Class A team and with Cam’s stature was a significant achievement.Cameron’s statistics and other achievements in football have been previously included in the Tonkawa News by Lyle Becker.Cam also participated in wrestling for 3 years at THS, winning fourth place as a Junior at the state wrestling tournament. He also participated in soccer for 2 years while playing at Ponca City high school, and track for one year at THS and was a state qualifier in the long jump as a junior.Two of the key teachers and coaches that Cameron mentioned that influenced his career include Mike Kirtley, whom Cam reported “encouraged him to work hard and always believed in him” and Ali Dice.
