Sometimes we think that Jesus mission ended at the cross, but did not end at the cross! After His resurrection, Jesus met with His disciples and continued teaching, and He explained their commission to serve as His disciples. He told them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. Most importantly, it is asking people to give up their lives for the One who gave his life for them. Just like we did.We learn from this command that the message is about salvation. The message of the “Good News” is that God desires to save us from our sins and give us a new life. We also learn that this message of salvation is an ongoing process in our lives when He says: “teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” We never stop learning from Jesus; we keep on growing. We never stop teaching about Jesus and helping people know Him and growing in faith. The apostle Paul tells us, “For I am not ashamed ...
