The Tonkawa Chamber of Commerce will be having their 4th of July celebration on Tuesday, July4th.Start the day with a red white and blue breakfast at Quiddy’s or Mary’s Grill! We will begin registration for the Tiny Tot/Mr. Muscle at 9:00 a.m. at Heart in the Park with judging at 9:30. This will allow for children to participate in the decorated bicycle/ATV contest as well. Lineup at the Methodist Church (4th & Grand) starting at 11:00 a.m. with judging at 11:30 a.m.You may also participate in the Labyrinth Harvest Walk in Centennial Park. The McCarter Museum of Tonkawa History will be open for your enjoyment as well.CALLING FOR PARADE ENTRIES….Please call the Chamber office to enter your float, band, dancers, vehicles, ATVs, daycare, football, baseball, softball teams, horses, and such.The Lucky Duck Derby follows the parade at the 9th Street canal. Blinn Park Activities include Free Swim at Tonkawa Aquatic Park, 2-7 p.m. Children’s games will begin at 7:00 p.m.7:00 p.m. COIN DIG – Calling all children to join the fun of digging for over $50.00 in coins.7:30 p.m. TUG OF WAR – (ADULTS) Gather your teams for 5 on 5 battle across Blinn creek for $500.00 in prize money for the last team standing. (CHILDREN 10-14 years old) Can battle for$250.00 in prize money for the last team standing.8:00 p.m. STICK HORSE RACE – Ages 3 & under, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12 years old can compete for$5.00 to the winner in each age group.8:30 p.m. TURTLE RACE – Prize money is $10.00 per group winner and $20.00 for the overall winner.9:00 p.m. BALLOON TOSS – ALL AGES! Everyone competes to be the last person standing for$50.00.9:30 p.m. 50/50 DRAWING – Chance to win one-half of the total tickets sold: $1.00 ea. Or6/$5.00 There is an adult Horseshoe Tournament starting at 3:00 p.m., registrations are at 2:00 p.m. Entry fee is $20 per team with 100% payout.50/50 Raffle Ticket available at the chamber office or from any chamber director, $1.00 each or6/$5.00.
