W. W. Rodgers Reappointed As Regent Of NOC Gov. David Hall announced on May 7 the reappointment of W. W. Rodgers of Blackwell to a five-year term as a member of the Northern Oklahoma College Board of Regents.Rodgers is the senior member of the NOC Board having first been appointed by Gov. Johnston Murray in February, 1951, Rodgers has served on the board continuously since 1951 having been reappointed by each subsequent governor.As a board member Rodgers said, “It has been my privilege to observe NOC develop from the traditional two-year college to a comprehensive community college serving all of northern Oklahoma. The vocational training extended to employees of the Blackwell Zinc Company is only one example of this expanding concept.“This growth and expansion has been especially significant during the past five years under the leadership of President Edwin E. Vineyard.“During my tenure on the board, I have observed NOC expand from a college having a few more than 100 students to its present student body of more than 1500 students.“The value of NOC to northern Oklahoma is inestimable and it must have the continuing support of all of us who live in this area.Tonkawa Summer Recreation Program Includes Activities For EveryoneBrochures outlining the “Summer of ‘73” Recreation Program were distributed to Tonkawa school children Monday. For the benefit of all Tonkawa residents, the activities outlined in the brochure are listed below.The activities were planned by Leo Canaday, Director of the Recreation Program, and members of the Recreation Committee: Randy Glasgow, Chairman; Dr. Kenton Nesbit, Secretary; Danny Burns, Earl Green, Marvin Klufa, Gail Humphries.
