Ron Walcher Is Named To OU Medical School Ron Walcher, son of Dr. and Mrs. Olin Walcher, 1105 North Fifth has been named one of 146 students accepted for admission to the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in August. Walcher is finishing his junior year at Oklahoma State university.The students were selected by the Board of Admissions from a record number of approximately 1,200 applicatants. Last year there were 771 persons competing for the same number of places in the entering class.The men and women accepted represent 47 Oklahoma communities, and include 17 women. With admission of the new class, total medical college enrollment will reach a new high of approximately 560, one of the largest in the nation.Two other Kay counties were named to the class, Malcolm C. Foster and Miss Alexander Jacocks, Ponca City.Winners of gold eggs toldWinners of the Golden Eggs, each worth one dollar at the Easter Egg Hunt Wednesday afternoon were announced by Mrs. Ruby Mills, Chamber of Commerce secretary.Winners were: Jeannie Washburn, 403 South Franz; Kristi Diemer, RR 1, Jone Lea Vines, 209 North Tenth; Mike Vines, 209 North Tenth; Eric Caudillo, northeast of city; Eric Caudillo, northeast of city; Mike Morse, 1103 Ninth Fifth; Tara Corbin, 605 North Seventh and Scott Nesbit, 705 North Seventh. Ten Golden Eggs were put out but only nine were turned in for their cash prize, Mrs. Mills said.The Egg Hunt, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, was held at three places for different age groups. Pre-schoolers and kindergarteners hunt was Wednesday morning at the Kindergarten playground at the Catholic church. First through third graders had their hunt at 2:30 at Lions park and fourth and fifth graders at the same time at Blinn Park.A total of 7,000 eggs were hidden which included 300 eggs which contained 10 cent slips and the 10 Golden Eggs, worth a dollar.Delta Kappa Gamma Has Meeting On April 23 The Delta chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma met April 23 at 6:30 at the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Ponca City for a dinner meeting. Hostesses were: Mrs. Georgia Enans, Miss Harriet Fordyce, Mrs. Ailene West, and Mrs. Ethel Johnson. Fifty guests were present. The tables were decorated with ivy and white narcissus.Miss Josephine Crossfield presided at the punch bowl before the dinner.Mrs. Leo Rodrigues gave the invocation.
