Acts from Kremlin ran off with the top prize money in both the Junior and Open divisions Saturday night in the finals of the 19th annual Hamateur Revue a Wilkin Auditorium.Winner of first place in the Junior Division was Aly Zaloudek, 1971, Junior division winner who performed a piano solo. She was awarded $30 first prize money.In the Open division the winners were Randy and Steve Chelf, who played electric guitars and sang. They won $100 first place money. A year ago the brothers won second in the junior division.Only Tonkawa act to place in the prize money was Pam and Patti Davis, twin daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Chuck Davis, 105 South Jenkins. They won third place and $20.00. Last year they won first place in the Junior Division.Complete list of winners are: Junior Division, Aly Zaloudek, $30 first, Chris Henderson, Pawnee, drum solo, $25 second; Pam and Patti Davis, Tonkawa, song and dance number, $20, third; Jana Sue Reding, Wichita, reading, $15, fourth; and Yvonne Michele Schubert, Burlington, song and dance $10 and Darci Tauscher, Arkansas City, Kan., tap dance, $10, both tied for fifth place.Open division: Randy and Steve Chelf, Kremlin, guitar duet, $100 first; Julie Ann Love, Arkansas City, knife twirling, $50, second ; Ralph Foxworthy, Newkirk, piano solo, $25, third; and Christy Shrum, Wichita, dance; Michele Williams and Debra Lunceford, Arkansas City, jazz dance, $12.50 apiece, tied for fourth and split fourth and fifth place money.A total of 43 acts performed in the finals. Judges for the show were Ashley Alexander, Stillwater, Miss Beverly Moore, Morrison and Mrs. Nevona Kegans, Tonkawa.Four File For Ward 1 & 2 Council PostsFour candidates filed for two city council posts last week with the Kay County Election Board, two in Ward 1 and two in Ward 2.Filing in Ward 1 were Neil R. Martin, 206 North Barnes and Cecil A. Howeth, 1501 East North Avenue. Howeth is the president councilman from Ward 1.In Ward 2, Jack A. Rogers, 600 North Sixth and Eber K. Heady, 407 North Seventh, both filed.
