Northern Oklahoma College alumni Jeff Medders will be inducted into the NOC Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame April 1 along with fellow inductees Willie Street and Dr. Jim Appleman.They will be honored in ceremonies taking place during the NOC Alumni and Friends Reunion Dinner in the Renfro Center at NOC Tonkawa at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 1.Also, the Class of 1973 will be honored at the event.Since 1991, Jeff Medders has been the television host for PRCA ProRodeo and the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Nevada. He has offered his talents to “America’s Horse,” a magazine show on the American Quarter Horse for 15 years and has been the host and producer of the “Cinch High School Rodeo Tour” for the past decade.While immersing himself within the cowboy industry, Medders founded and is the President and CEO of Geronimo Productions.In March 2020, due to his 30-year television experience he became The Cowboy Channel President. He has played a major role in bringing success and fast-paced growth to the first and only television network dedicated to western sports and way of life.Medders graduated from Northern Oklahoma College with an Associates of Arts in Broadcasting in May of 1983 and Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Radio, Television, Film in May of 1985. Medders was named an OSU College of Arts and Sciences Outstanding Alumnus in 2014.He was inducted into the Texas Rodeo Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2016, and last November he was inducted into the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.
