Northern Oklahoma College Lady Maverick Allison Green was named the Leo Canaday Memorial Scholarship recipient for the 2023-24 Academic Year.Green is a freshman from Kingfisher, Oklahoma, studying Pre-Nursing. The Leo Canaday Memorial Scholarship was established by Canaday’s wife, the late Pat Canaday. Canaday was a former NOC Lady Maverick Basketball Coach and athletic director. Through the generous support of family and friends, this scholarship provides students an opportunity to pursue their educational goals at NOC Tonkawa and is presented to a member of the NOC Women’s Basketball Team.Representing the Canaday family were their daughter Vicki Hardesty and her husband Allen and their grandchildren, Leo, Mikaela, and Kylee Hardesty.Joining Green for the presentation were her parents Danny and Melanie Green and her grandparents Mac and Linda Drake.Presenting the scholarship were Lady Mavs Head Coach Greg Krause, Athletic Director Alan Foster, and Candy Oller, Director of Donor Relations.
