At 6:00 p.m. on December 24, St. Joseph Christmas Choir will present a carol concert at St. Joseph Catholic Church of Tonkawa. The public is invited to attend.Under the direction of Madison Davis and accompanied by organist Marjilea Smitheisler, the Christmas choir will sing, “’Twas in the Moon of Wintertime”, “What Child Is This” and “Ding Dong, Merrily on High”. Individual vocal selections during the concert will include: Audrey Caughlin, “Wexford Carol”; Abigail Davis, “Night of Silence”; and Flutist Sydnee Jacobs, “O Come O Come Emmanuel”. Father Bathini will sing “Lalijo Lalijo”, meaning “lullaby” from his homeland.The Mass of the Nativity of the Lord will begin at 6:30 p.m. Ministers for the service are Sacristan, Robyn Caughlin; Lectors, Nancy Pendleton and Ryan Davis; Communion Minister, Reta Swords; Altar Servers, Juaquin Pando, Levi Vowell and Nora Jacobs. Nicole Caughlin will read the Prayers of the Faithful. Abigail Davis will serve as Cantor.Offertory Gifts will be presented by the Jarrett Family: Amber and Kevin Sr. and children Josette, Lillianna, Kevin Jr. and Michael.Later in the evening of December 24, Father Bathini will celebrate Christmas Eve Mass at St. Joseph Church in Blackwell at 8:30 p.m. On Christmas Day he will celebrate Mass at 9:00 a.m. in Blackwell and 11:00 a.m. in Tonkawa.
