Tim Muegge Wins Top Prize In Football ContestTwo entrants missed four games to lead all pickers in the Football Contest as the upsets took their toll. Top winner of the $7.50 cash first place money was Tim Muegge, Rt. 2, Lamont. He came out closer on the tie-breaker than C. W. Staggers, Box 412 Lamont, who also missed four games. Staggers won the second prize money of $5 cash.Six entrants missed five games but the winner of the third place money of $2.50 on the basis of the tie-breaker score was Bob Barker, 10123 Kerrwood, Houston, Texas. He picked Pawnee to win 22-7 and was closer than anyone else.Others who missed give games but did not win a prize were Hilda Reisch, 101 North Seventh; Sherrie Schatz, Box 61; W. C. Smith, 304 W. Congress; Joey Reynolds, 107 North Twelfth and Melvina Miller, 314 North Tenth.No one expected Arkansas to lose to Rice, nor Iowa State and Nebraska to tie, or Texas Christian to win over Texas Tech or Michigan State to defeat Ohio State or Washington to dump UCLA.
