The NOC Lady Mavs are 2-1 in the young season as the Lady Mavs go into 2022-23 season.The Lady Mavs are coached by Greg Krause who enters his 41st season at NOC.Krause is excited for the 2022-23 season to get started.“We’re always excited to play,” Krause said. “We’ve been to some scrimmage jamborees but you never really know until you start playing games. We have a young team so we know there will be some growing pains but we also know those players are going to grow. It’s time to start taking the steps to becoming the team we want to be.”The Lady Mavs return sophomore Jordan Holman, a first team All-Region 2 selection last year.“Jordan it such a tough competitor,” Krause said. “I think she has the make-up to be a leader for this team. It’ll be important for her to play a high level for us this year and I know she will.”She is joined by sophomores Lexie Boyer and Morgan Hawkins along with eight freshmen.“We are an extremely young team and we’ll need our freshman to step up and play important roles for us this year,” he said. “I like this freshman group, they will continue to work hard and improve as the year goes along.”The Mavs open conference play against Western on Nov. 17 at 5:30 p.m.Sophomores: Jordan Holman, Morgan Hawkins, Lexie Boyer.Freshmen: Kelly Hussey, Maddy Wehrenberg, Landri Hussey, Brooke Robertson, Iris Sa, Allison Green, Kaydrin Scott, Beatrice Sa.
