Northern Oklahoma College welcomed business professionals in nine specific areas Tuesday, Oct. 25 to a meeting with NOC instructors in those academic fields.The advisory boards meet annually with NOC instructors to discuss the changing workplace and how instructors can better prepare students for the future.The partnership between the business community and NOC has been going on for many years some as many as 30 years. This was the third year that all nine advisory committees met simultaneously. The advisory committees met for lunch in the Renfro Center and then broke out into individual groups.The nine areas include Agricultural & Biological Sciences, Alumni, Behavioral Sciences, Business, Criminal Justice, Health, Physical Education & Recreation (HPER), Mass Communications, Nursing, and Pre-Engineering/Process Technology.NOC President Dr. Clark Harris welcomed the group to NOC saying, “We are so glad you took the time today to be a part of this program. We are so thankful for your partnerships with our institution and we’re excited to hear what you have to offer.”Harris said these meetings are critical for NOC to better prepare students for the work place.“We appreciate your help in creating higher quality programs that help us produce higher quality students,” he said. “You help us better prepare our students for the workforce or their transfer to a four-year institution.”
