In 2021, ODWC began a partnership with OG&E allowing for special fishing clinics at closed to the public portions of OG&E-owned water bodies. Events have been held at Horseshoe Lake, Sooner Lake and River Valley. This fall’s special clinic is at the inflow channel on Sooner Lake on Friday, October 7 from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. Participants will get the opportunity to target hybrid striped bass, saugeye, catfish, carp, largemouth bass and sunfish. The event is FREE and participants will be served lunch. 50 spots are available on a first come-first serve registration. Participants are exempt from a state fishing license during the event. Fishing equipment, including rods, reels and tackle, will be provided for use at the event. Upon arriving at the gate, participants will undergo a brief security check and then be escorted to the event parking area by OG&E staff.All fishing during the event is catch and release only.
