24 Works on Paper, Oklahoma’s only traveling art exhibit that features artists who live and work in the state, will be on view from Sept. 26 – Oct. 4 in the Eleanor Hays Art Gallery at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa.Artists chosen for the curated exhibit differ in age, background and style and what unifies them is that they all make work on paper - in media such as printmaking, drawing, painting and photography.The guest curator for 24 Works on Paper was Michael Grauer, Curator of Cowboy Collections and Western Art at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. The biennial exhibition is managed by the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition, a statewide nonprofit whose mission is to grow and develop Oklahoma’s visual arts community through education, promotion, connection and funding.Exhibition hours are Monday – Friday from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. and during performance in the KPAC.The exhibition will travel to venues across Oklahoma including Leslie Powell Gallery in Lawton, from Nov. 12 to Dec. 20, 2022, The Wigwan Gallery in Altus, OK from Jan. 16 to Feb. 24, 2023, Spider Gallery in Tahlequah, OK from March 6 to April 21, 2023, Gardiner Gallery of Art, Oklahoma State University, Stillwater from May 8 to June 16, 2023, Thomas K. McKeon Center for Creativity, Tulsa Community College Metro Campus, Tulsa, from June 26 to Aug. 4, 2023, Aug. 14 to Sept. 29, 2023: locations to be announced, Centre Arts Gallery, Southeastern Oklahoma State University, Durant, from Oct. 16 to Nov. 24, 2023, and its final destination at Gaylord-Pickens Museum, home of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, Oklahoma City, OK from Dec. 9 to Feb. 14, 2024.Classroom curriculum guides and videos are made available for free to arts educators, homeschool groups, and other interested parties.
