Jim and Helen Terbush just returned from a week long Terbush Family Reunion in Branson, MO. The 63 family members rented two very large houses containing 8 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms each, plus a large open area featuring kitchen, dining and gathering space. The house was a two story structure each having a large deck with more eating space. These decks provided amazing views of the beautiful Table Rock Lake near Indian Point. As guests of this housing we had access to the Lodge which provided spa, swimming pool, games and much more. Our own lower level also had a game room and laundry. We had family from both coasts and throughout the Midwest. Jim, Helen and their family were hosts to the two years event that will be our thirtieth anniversary in 2024. The five siblings of Tom and Opal Terbush rotate the job of hosting these reunions. Some of the activities the group enjoyed were: Pontoon rentals, jet skiing, swimming, the aquarium, Silver Dollar City, Sight and Sound production of “Jesus”, Top of the Rock, golf cart tour, Branson Train ride and many more. One of our favorites is having dinner together in our accommodation, again the siblings family prepares the meal – then its visiting and a tradition – cards, mostly pitch, anytime we can find a foursome. Another tradition started even before the reunions did, involved all the women drawing names and exchanging Christmas boxes. Now we do it at reunion time. We had five generations present, that’s why the cousins all know each other. As in every year, we had a few people who couldn’t make make it and we missed them all.
