Tonkawa school board members hired three new teachers at Monday night’s three-hour meeting.Members of the board Casey McAninch, Nancy Appleman, Jerry Hook, Bryan Bowling and Tyler Langston approved the following new employees:-- Jessica Campbell as a non-certified adjunct teacher for Family and Consumer Science-- Coradino Rosato as a non-certified adjunct teacher for Mid-High Science and Social Studies-- Kristina Fischer as half-time certified special education instructor In other action, board members:-- Approved the following encumbrances: $1,299.09 from the 2021-22 fiscal budget; and $657,243.71 from the 2022-23 fiscal budget with $107,567.36 from the general fund, $526.35 from the child nutritiohn fund and $549,150 from bond fund 31.-- Heard presentations from Kelle Klufa on the FERPA plan and Connie Shreck on the tPS Tech Lab.-- Declared a 2005 Freightliner Bus 10 as surplus.-- Approved a contract with the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education for the new school year.-- Approved core academic math and science courses offered at Pioneer Tech to include Algebra II, Geometry, Algebra of finance, pre-Calculus, core math, Biology II and Anatomy and Physiology.-- Approved a contract between the school and United Systems, Inc. for managed network services for the 22-23 school year.-- Approved a contract with Kellogg and Sovereign Consultants for professional e-rate management services during the 22-23 school year.-- Approved a renewal of the Qualified Zone Academy Bond lease for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023 as required under the provisions of the Equipment Lease purchase agreement dated Feb. 28, 2014 between the district and Zions First National Bank.-- Approved statutory waiver/deregulation for alternative education for the 22-23 school year.
