Henry Allen Gets Harvard Degree On ThursdayHenry L. Allen, Box 86 received a master of education degree Thursday from Harvard University, Cambridge, Mass. He was one of approximately 4,400 students who were awarded degrees at the 321st Commencement at Harvard.Following the traditional Commencement Exercises in Harvard Yard, candidates received their degrees in special ceremonies held at the individual schools or houses with which they were most closely associated.Joe Hochderffer Accepts New Job At Fort WayneJoe G. Hochderffer, former news editor of the Tonkawa News who has been associated with the Alabama Hospital Association as its executive director the past year has resigned to return to Fort Wayne, Indiana. He will go to work at Parkview Hospital where he worked in public relations and administrative work before resigning for the job at Montgomery.He will become executive director of a newly formed non-profit development foundation at the hospital. Hochderffer is a 1949 graduate of the University of Oklahoma school of journalism and received a master’s degree in hospital administration from the University of Alabama. He will start his new job at Fort Wayne on July 11. He is the son of Joe Hochderffer, south of city.Ronald Slavens Injured Friday In AccidentRonald Lee Slavens, 21, RR 1, was injured at 10:25 p.m. Friday a half mile south of the city in a one car accident when his 1964 Olds sedan approached a dead end on South Public broadsided, and he was thrown out of the vehicle. According to OIP Trooper Wesley Robinette, Slavens approached the dead end road too fast, broadsided his car, hit a small tree, was airborne 45 feet, hit bounced again approximately 30 feet and then hit and slid sideways approximately six feet. Slavens was thrown out of the vehicle. The car was equipped with seatbelts but they were not in use at the time.He was taken to Blackwell hospital by McCafferty-Bolick ambulance and then transferred to Ponca City hospital. He was expected to be released from the hospital today. He suffered a laceration on his head from the accident.Dr. Ron W. Nida Joins Veterinary Clinic StaffDr. Ron W.
