Come join Tonkawa for a fun-filled day of activities on July 4th…..The Tonkawa Chamber of Commerce will be having their 4th of July celebration on Monday, July 4th.We will begin registration for the Tiny Tot/Mr. Muscle at 9:00 a.m. at Heart in the Park with judging at 9:30. This will allow for children to participate in the decorated bicycle/ATV contest as well. Lineup at the Methodist Church (4th & Grand) starting at 11:00 a.m. with judging at 11:30 a.m.You may also participate in the Labyrinth Harvest Walk in Centennial Park by placing wheat in the center of the heart and tying a patriotic ribbon on the big heart at the entrance.The McCarter Museum of Tonkawa History will be open for your enjoyment as well.CALLING FOR PARADE ENTRIES….Please call the Chamber office to enter your float, band, dancers, vehicles, ATVs, daycare, football, baseball, softball teams, horses and such.The Lucky Duck Derby follows the parade at the 9th Street canal.Blinn Park Activities include Free Swim in the new Tonkawa Aquatic Park, 2-7 p.m. There will be a ribbon cutting at 1:30 p.m. for the official opening of the pool.Children’s games will begin at 7:00 p.m.There will be a coin dig, turtle race, 5 on 5 tug-a-war across the creek (all ages) and corn hole.Concessions will open at 7:00 p.m. with Hotdog/chips/drink combo for only $7.00.Swamp Buggy Snow Cones will be in the concession stand along with the Chamber.There is an adult Horseshoe Tournament starting at 3:00 p.m., registrations is at 2:00 p.m.Entry fee is $20 per team with 100% payout.
