Have you heard an overwhelming sound coming from North Public Street? Lots of screaming and laughing?? You can relax. It’s just the excitement from kids who are experiencing the thrill of a new playground. Students were like little ants on a piece of candy! It was rewarding to watch. Plans for the upgrade began last May in hopes of completion in August. Unexpected delays in receiving equipment and the inability to secure technicians to install set the date back. The makeover was funded through the 2021-22 ESSER II Formula Fund. Included in the project are new swing sets, a large multipurpose station, freestanding climber, and artificial turf. The new addition will allow students to play outside in all kinds of weather and more opportunities to breathe the fresh air.
