Early voting begins Thursday February 3, 2022 for voters in Kay County. Voters who will not be able to make it to the polls on Election Day, have the option of voting early at their County Election Board.Kay County Election Board Secretary, Carol Leaming, said early voting is open to all voters.The race follows:Tonkawa Schools: Board Position #2 Incumbent Cara Beth Johnson, Casey Boland, and Tyler LangstonVoting will be 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. next Tuesday, Feb. 8, at the usual two voting places in Tonkawa -- Church of Christ and Methodist Church Family Center.If one candidate receives more than 50% of the votes in the February election, that candidate will be named the elected official. If no one receives more than 50% of the votes, the top two candidates will vie for the position in the April 5, 2022 Board of Education General Election.“You do not need to provide an excuse to vote early. Oklahoma allows early voting for all election conducted through the State Election Board from school board and municipal elections to state and federal elections. This is a great option for those who will be out of town on Election Day or who want to avoid long lines,” Leaming said.Early voting is available Thursday February 3, 2022 and Friday February 4, 2022 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the County Election Board located at 201 S. Main St. in Newkirk. Leaming reminds voters that early voting is not available at polling locations.The Kay County Election Board is located at 201 S.
