60 years ago, February 3, 1972Service Bank of Tonkawa Names Larry Penn CashierLarry Penn has been elected cashier and an officer of the Service Bank of Tonkawa, it was announced today by C. M. Davis, president. The action was taken last Friday at the annual directors meeting at the bank.Penn joined the staff of the bank last March and has been assistant operation manager. He is a native of Seminole, a graduate of Putnam City High school and attended Oklahoma City university. He had worked at the Community National Bank at Warr Acres before joining the bank here and had been with Fidelity National Bank in Oklahoma City for 4 ½ years before that.Penn and his wife Edwina, live at 103 South Second and have two children, Janice 6, and Donna, 2. They are members of the First Baptist church.Penn said he was “real happy with the honor and flattered that he was selected cashier of the bank.” Bank president Davis said, “Larry has been a real asset to our bank and we are happy to see him move up to a position of higher responsibility.Cunningham new accountantCharles L. Cunningham has been employed as an accountant in the production and pipeline accounting division of Continental Oil Company’s controller’s department. The Tonkawa native who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Sid Cunningham of 302 North Barnes in Tonkawa received a BBA degree in accounting from the University of Oklahoma in 1971.He is a veteran of service with the U. S. Army. He and his wife, Carolyn, also from Tonkawa, and daughter, Chris, age 2, reside at 304 ½ North Public.Pedigo enlistsHarold Lee Pedigo, son of Mr. and Mrs. William L. Pedigo, Tonkawa, has enlisted in the U.S. Army for a period of three years, according to S/Sgt. Theldous H. Coon, Jr., local Army recruiter. Following completion of basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., he will be assigned to the Fourth Infantry Division at the Fort Carson, Colo., an option he chose prior to enlistment. Private Pedigo was employed at Pedigo Brothers Wrecker Service in Tonkawa.
