The final football contest of the season appeared in the Dec. 23 issue of The News.Bowl games were completed this last weekend.Marissa Parker and Peggy Neeley both submitted perfect entries.Parker wins first and $10 because she was closest on the OSU-Notre Dame tie-breaker..Neeley wins $7.She picked OSU to lose 7-31, 34 ponts off the actnal 37-35 Cowboy win. Neeley 37 points off, picking the Cowboys to win 21-14.Several missed one game. Travis Parker was the closest with a 34-30 OSU pick to win, just 8 points off. He wins $3.Others who missed one but who were farther off on the tiebreaker included Martha Parker, Mark Martin and Chuck Neeley.Winners are urged to pick up their cash at the office, 126 E. Grand, Tonkawa, as soon as possible. If not picked up by the end of January, it will be forfeited.Weekly sponsors include Gateway First Bank, Northern Oklahoma College, Mary’s Tonkawa Grill, Moore’s Venture Food Stores, Sonic Drive-In, and First National Bank of Oklahoma.Entries should be submitted to The News office at 126 E. Grand by noon Friday each week during the regular season.Prize money is $10 for first, $7 for second and $3 for third.Winners will be announced in the following week’s edition as soon as all winners have been crowned during the current collegiate bowl season.Entrants are urged to circle a winner for each game and fill in the tie-breaker score.
