ENID, Oklahoma – The Northern Oklahoma College Mavs picked up two wins in the NOC Enid Classic last weekend in Enid.Mavs 78, Hill 67The NOC Mavs won their ninth straight Saturday with a 78-67 win over Hill College in the NOC Enid Classic.NOC (11-3) was led by Syrus Grisby with 24 points while Fede Federiko added 11 and Jalen Johnson 10.“I wasn’t pleased with our effort Friday against OnPoint but we were much better Saturday against Hill,” said coach Brad Witherspoon. “We executed very well after half against Hill and that opened the game up for us.”Saturday’s game was tied at 36-36, then the Mavs went on a 24-6 run in the second half to build a 60-42 lead.Hill made a late run cutting the Mavs’ lead to 74-62 but that was as close as Hill College would get as the Mavs closed out the Rebels earning their ninth straight win.Hill fell to 10-4 on the year.Mavs 68, OnPoint 63The Mavs won their eighth straight Friday with a 68-63 win over OnPoint Prep at the NOC Enid Classic.NOC (10-3) was led by Nick Cham who scored 15 points off the Maverick bench. Syrus Grisby added 13 and Fede Federiko 11.NOC led OnPoint Prep throughout Friday’s game but could never shake the academy.The Mavs stretched a 28-25 halftime lead to as many as 10 points in the second half but had to hold on late.Grisby and Federiko had eight rebounds each and, Elijah Pickens and DJ Moore had three assists each.The Mavs shot 57% from the floor and 50% from 3-point range.
