Jerry P. Houser CompletesBasic At Lackland AFBAirman Jerry P. Houser, son of Mrs. Florence Houser of 108 N. Twelfth, has completed his initial coarse of Air Force basic military training at Lackland AFB, Tex.He has been selected to attend the technical training course for Aircraft and Missile maintenance at Sheppard AFB. Tex.Airman Houser is a graduate of Tonkawa high school.Basic airmen at Lackland are selected for specialized training of technical schools on the basis of their interests not aptitude. They are registered in the school after five weeks of basic training. At the technical schools they are given additional military training along with the technical instructions.Upon completion of special technical training of an Air Force Technical Training center, airman are assigned to operation units of the USAF Aerospace Force.Tonkawa Employee Is InjuredMonday In Two-Car SmashBill Carey, 25, an employee of Dorsett’s Food Market, received facial lacerations and two automobiles were heavily damaged in a collision occurring about 5 ½ miles east of Tonkawa.The driver of the other car, Charles Jueschke, was cited the Trooper R. H. Greninger for reckless driving.Greninger said the accident occurred when Jueschke, driving a 1961 Rambler, attempted to make a U-turn at a highway intersection. Carey, driving a 1961 Falcon eastbound behind Jueschke, collided with the Rambler. Both cars stopped headed south.Damages to the two automobiles were estimated at $1,750.Carey was treated at Blackwell General hospital. Jueschke apparently escaped uninjured.WSCS Has Installation of OfficersThe WSCS of the First Methodist church met Wednesday morning at one o’clock in the church parlors for a coffee and installation of officers.The Mary circle was hostess for the event.Mrs. Lin Trueblood called the meeting to order and the Lord’s Prayer was given in unison. There was a short business session before the meeting was turned over to the Rev. Shultz for the installation of WSCS officers for the new year.The Rev.
