Northern Oklahoma College basketball swept NEO Monday night 66-60 and 86-76 at Foster-Piper Fieldhouse Monday night.The Lady Mavs (6-4) and the Mavs (7-3) improved to 2-0 in conference play with the wins.Lady Mavs 66, NEO 60Jordan Holman scored 21 points and Shelby Rayner added 17 in the Lady Mavs’ 66-60 win over NEO.NOC built a double figure lead in the first half only to see NEO battle back in the second half to take a 55-54 lead with 5:15 remaining.The Lady Mavs then went on a 7-3 run to take a 61-58 lead. NEO cut the lead to 61-60 but NOC scored the final five points of the game to take the 66-60 win. Holman and Rayner combined for the Lady Mavs’ final 10 points of the game.“I thought our defense did a good job of applying some ball pressure,” said coach Greg Krause. “We still have work to do on containing the ball when trapping, but we’re seeing improvement with our team defense. Another big thing tonight was our offensive rebounding. We did a good job extending our offensive possessions.”Addie Trent led the Lady Mavs with 10 rebounds while Rayner added three assists.Mavs 86, NEO 76Syrus Grisby led four in double figures as NOC outlasted NEO 86-76 Monday night. NOC built a 10-point lead in the first half and then held off a number of NEO runs to claim their second conference win. Nick Cham added 16, DJ Jones 13, and Fede Federiko 12 for NOC. Jalen Johnson led the Mavs with 12 rebounds while Elijah Pickens added nine assists.
