Tonkawa’s football Bucs face another big test this week.And it’s a short week.The Bucs go to Edmond North Stadium on West Danforth Road to face the Oklahoma Christian Academy.Kick off is at 7 p.m. Thursday.Tonkawa beat Watonga 26-18, but the win might have been costly with quarterback Ryan Morgan (shoulder) and tailback Roman Chandler (ankle) missing most of the final quarter.“We just don’t know how costly until we get everyone evauated,” Head Coach Mike Kirtley said this week.OCA is another “very athletic team,” Kirtley said, “They’re well-schooled and look a lot like Watonga, except they run the ball better. OCA will be a challenge, for sure.”The Eagles are 5-1 overall and 1-1 in the league. Their only loss came vs. Cashion 28-39.Before that loss, they reeled off victories over Sayre 62-13, Merritt 34-0, Stratford 33-14, Hinton 18-16 and North Rock Creek 42-0.Hinton, where the Bucs will go to Oct. 22, took defending state champ Cashion to the gamut, falling 0-12. “There’s just no easy wins in this district this year,” Kirtley said.“There’s just no easy wins in this district this year,” Kirtley said.OCA will be in a spread offense and a four front on defense.
