Northern Oklahoma College soccer remained unbeaten Sunday with wins over Rich Mountain (AR) in Tonkawa.The #17 men (3-0) dominated Rich Mountain 6-0 while the #19 Mavs’ women (3-0) were equally dominant winning 4-1. Mavs 6, Rich Mountain 0The Mavs showed their potential with an easy 6-0 win over Rich Mountain on Sunday.“I’ve been hard on the boys this year, because I know their potential,” said coach Michael DuRoy. “We are tough to beat if we play our best. We haven’t even come close to doing that yet. Today we did play better. Our defense was much more organized. Our midfield played better than they have to this point in the season, and forwards chased up front. “We have to keep improving because every game gets tougher,”Jesus Aleman had two goals for NOC while Kareen Williams, Damorney Hutchinson, Josh Bell, and Assanie Brown had one each.Goalkeeper Harry Archer had a clean sheet for the Mavs with two saves.NOC out shot Rich Mountain 24-3.Northern will be back at home on Thursday hosting Murray State College at 4 p.m.Mavs’ Women 4, Rich Mountain 1Milica Bulatovic scored two goals for the Mavs while Abbi Vargas and Samantha Mendez scored one goal each. Bulatovic has six goals in three games.“I’m super proud of the girls,” said coach Michael DuRoy. “We aren’t a finished team by any stretch, but we do a lot of things right. We can really move the ball. Our patience today was fantastic. There were long stretches of the game where Rich Mountain couldn’t touch the ball. What I’m most pleased with is our girls’ ability to execute in games what we work on in training. They pick up on concepts really fast. We can and need to improve though. Our fitness isn’t quite where I would like it, and we need to be a little bit more gritty defensively.”Northern outshot Rich Mountain 26-7 on the day.NOC hosts Murray State Thursday at 2 p.m.
