Tonkawa 2021 footballers are 24 strong so far this season. Preseason practice will continue at 6 p.m. until school starts this Thursday. Then all practices will be after school daily.
Two pre-season scrimmages are due with Hominy, OK Union and Stroud in one and Woodland for another. Head Coach Mike Kirtley said the three-way would be here Friday, Aug. 20, at 6 p.m. The times and location for the Woodland scrimmage has not been set, he said.
The Bucs open the season Thursday, Sept.2 vs. Newkirk here at 7 p.m.
Kirtley said numbers at summer pride have been good, mostly in the 20’s.
The first day of school will be Thursday, Aug. 12, and full pads will be donned Friday, Aug. 13. At that time, practices will be after school each day.
