The Kay County Treasurer would like to make the public aware that the treasurer’s office will be conducting the annual Tax Resale for the office of the County Treasurer on Monday, June 14th at the MARK BRANCH FIELDHOUSE beginning at 9:00am. This sale will be for property that is being sold for several years of delinquent tax as required by state statute Title 68 Section 3129.
All precautions will be taken with the public and county employee’s health in mind. It will be the responsibility of anyone attending the sale to maintain the recommended 6ft of space between attendees and to bring their own mask. This office would like to thank Superintendent Scott Kempenich of Newkirk Public Schools for allowing the county to use their facility to help safely accommodate this sale.
The property will be sold to the highest bidder for CASH ONLY. All property must be sold for the sum not less than two-thirds of the assessed value of such real estate or for the amount of tax, penalties, interest and cost due on such property, whichever is the lesser amount.
The property is transferred by Treasurer’s deed. The real estate is being sold in “as is” condition without any warranty, either expressed or implied, as to the nature, condition or description of the property. The treasurer’s office has done extensive research and notification of these properties and will provide information to perspective buyers. Buyers, however, shall rely entirely on their own information, judgment and inspection of the property and records.
A list of the available properties may be obtained on-line at kaycounty.org or a list may be purchased at the Treasurer’s office. This list will include addresses, or the approximate addresses, of vacant lots for these properties.
