TISHOMINGO, Oklahoma -- The Northern Oklahoma College Mavericks dropped a doubleheader at Murray State Tuesday in the final regular season games for 2021.
The Mavs (27-26) lost 5-4 and 16-1. The Mavs finished the conference schedule with a 16-15 record, fourth in the league.
In Game 1, the Mavs rallied from 4-1 down scoring three runs in the sixth but Murray scored the go-ahead run in the seventh to win 5-4.
Lynsey Ailey had three hits while Morgan Fowble added a double. Fowble, Ailey, and Sidney Webb had runs batted in for the Mavs.
Ailey allowed four earned runs in 6.2 innings while striking out nine Aggie hitters.
In Game 2, the Mavs scored a run in the first as Ailey singled home Hallie Durkee and NOC led 1-0.
Murray would dominate after the first, scoring in every inning in a 16-1 win.
Shay Cushenbery, Molly Myers, and Webb all worked in the circle for the Mavs.
NOC now waits for the Region 2 Tournament May 13-16 in Muskogee.
