The organizers of the Tonkawa Film Festival have announced their Official Selections for the 2021 Tonkawa Film Festival taking place May 21-22, 2021, which is hosted by the Tonkawa Chamber of Commerce. This year’s festival screenings will once again take place at Wilkin Hall on the beautiful Northern Oklahoma College campus in Tonkawa, OK. In addition to the selections which include 38 short films from around the world and across multiple genres, the festival will once again host a special screening of a feature film with the star of the film scheduled to be in attendance. Organizers plan to reveal more details about the special screening in the coming weeks. Festival attendees and visiting filmmakers will again be treated to a one-of-a-kind film festival parade through downtown Tonkawa on Saturday, May 22nd, which includes a tribute to Oklahoma’s farmers with tractors included in the parade. A list of the selected films is available to view at the festival’s website. Tickets are also on sale and can be purchased through the website or in-person. Updates on mask requirements and social distancing measures will be updated on the site as they become available. All filmmakers attending with a selected film are provided a free hotel room throughout the festival at the Tonkawa Hotel & Casino, as well as transportation to/from airport. The Best of each genre will be awarded a beautifully crafted plaque created by J&J Woodshop in Kingfisher, OK. And one film will be awarded Best of the Fest which includes a $500 cash prize.
