JoAnn Brannan Is Named to New Post
Tuesday was the final day for Miss JoAnn Brannan as assistant home demonstration agent in Kay county, after 2 ½ years.
With James B. Thomas, assistant agent, she had been in charge of the 4-H club program in the county as well as serving as assistant to Mrs. Margaret Collins, demonstration agent, in working with the 37 unites in the home club program.
Miss Brannan has been transferred to Waurika, as home demonstration agent for Jefferson county. Her home was at Chickasha, she is a graduate of Oklahoma College for Women and has been enrolled in graduation work at Oklahoma State university work before entering extension work.
Garden Council Elects
Mrs. Morton At Tues. Luncheon
Mrs. G. Bryan Morton was elected president of the Tonkawa Council of Garden clubs at a luncheon meeting Tuesday in the home of Mrs. C. W. Pardew.
Mrs. Morton succeeds Mrs. Jack Harris and will be installed at the May meeting along with other new officers, Mrs. E. J. Frazier, vice-president, and Mrs. A. J. McDaniel, secretary-treasurer.
Mrs. Harris presided during the afternoon business period which included an announcement by Mrs. Paul Brooks of an Open House at the Public Library April 9th to be sponsored by the Twentieth Century Research club. The Garden club will assist by making a variety of arrangements suggestive of various library books.
The annual Garden club short course will be held the latter part of February in Stillwater with the district Garden club convention slated for March 23 at Putman City and the state convention April 24-26 at McAlester.
All Tonkawa Garden club units will meet jointly Feb. 24th with the meeting site to be announced later.
