Last week, I received a nice note and several recipes from Ginger Hunter who tells me “I recently moved to Ponca City from our home in Tonkawa and am now retired from Blackwell High School. During one of our food days, Judy (Mrs. Alan) Smith, who is also retired from Blackwell HS, brought brownies that came to be called ‘Best Brownies Ever’. I have used her recipe ever since and passed the recipe on to others. My friends now say they won’t use boxed ones anymore, so I thought you might like it
Last night I gathered the ingredients together and made up a batch with the watchful eyes of my chocolate lovers following my every move. Grandson Chase and husband Tom get so excited when chocolate appears on the menu and they were not disappointed with their evening treat. And, about the nuts, if desired - with our family, it’s very much desired - I used pecans.
Best Brownies Ever legitimately earns its name - reminded us of those decadent fudge pies without being as dense - very moist and full of that rich chocolate goodness - delicious.
