Chamber Directors Talk Membership
The current membership drive of the chamber of commerce was chief topic of discussion Tuesday when directors met at Tonkawa Grill.
President H. L. McIntyre reported that a total of 244 members were now listed with total pledges of $3,285.
The president told directors that he preferred that committee chairmen of their various committees be appointed by them and urged their names be submitted to him within the next few days.
A total of $376.50 remains to be paid on the 1960 pledges, McIntyre said, and asked the finance committee to contact delinquents in an effort to close out the books for the past year.
G. Bryan Morton was named to head the ticket sales drive for the annual chamber banquet to be held January 19. He gave each director tickets to be sold and announced they woud be available at the chamber office, also on a first come, first served basis.
Present at Tuesday’s meeting were McIntyre, R. B. Brining, Bill Reynolds, Louis McCarter, George L. Mix, Robert Colombe, Howard Harris, A. J. Evans, Merritt Witter, Dennis Impson, Morton, Glen Strange, Roy Simpson, Mrs. Ruby Mills and Bill Roller.
