Tonkawa and Newkirk will have school board elections April 6.
In Tonkawa, incumbent Mary Allan will face challenger Brian Bowling for office one and a five year term.
Tonkawa’s Orva Rothgeb was unopposed for a new five year term on the Pioneer Tech board from zone four.
In Newkirk, Landon Carpenter will face Jeff Schieber.
Offices for which Declaration of candidacy accepted at the County Election board office include the following:
Blackwell -- Angie Prince, office one, five year term.
Kildare -- Dustin Schickram, office one, three year term.
Newkirk -- Landon Carpenter and Jeff schieber, office one, five year term.
Peckham -- Kim Case, office two, three year term.
Pioneer Tech -- Orva Rothgeb, Tonkawa, zone four, five year term.
Ponca City -- robin L. Riley, office one, five year term.
Tonkawa -- Brian Bowling, 617 Meadow Lane; and Mary Allan, 701 Rivera St., both for office one, five year term.
Filing was Dec. 7-9 for office one on the Tonkawa Board of Education.
Filing was from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Kay County Election Board at the County Courthouse in Newkirk Dec. 7-9.
Cheryl Howard, Secretary of the Kay County Election Board, said the filing period ended at 5 p.m. Wednesday, December 9th.
The Board of Education positions at stake will be filled at the Annual School Election scheduled April 6, 2021. If three or more candidates file for one office a Primary School Election will be held on February 9, 2021.
Municipal races in Ponca City and Blackwell also developed. Filings follow:

Commissioner ward four, three year term -- Terron Liles and Robert Bodick.
The Ponca City election will be held Feb. 9.
Blackwell
Councilor at large (mayor), three year term -- Julie Green and T.J. Greenfield.
Councilor ward three, three year term -- robert E. Husted, Josh gillmann, Phillip Logan, Diane Spry.
Councilor ward four, three year term -- Steve Marquardt and Chad Shepherd.
In Blackwell the primary election will be Feb. 9 and the general election April 6.
