The North Central Oklahoma Arts Council will be closing the season of concerts with their Annual Anniversary Celebration. NCOAC is celebrating seven years of giving back to the area through the arts.
Join the NCOAC for an evening of entertainment starting with a dance contest at 7 p.m. A 10-minute dance off will feature songs such as Bill Haley’s “Rock Around the Clock”, Little Richard’s “Tutti Frutti”, two Elvis tunes including “Jailhouse Rock” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” Chubby Checker’s “The Twist,” “Girl from Ipanema,” and as a ¾ waltz, a Jazz tune titled “Alice in Wonderland.” Practice dancing to the songs, or just flow with the music Thursday evening.
Dance couples are welcome to sign up for the dance off Thursday evening, or preregister by emailing myartisticplace@hotmail.com placing “Dance Off” in the subject line. Winners will be determined by the audience placing money in buckets to support their choice dancers. Contestants with the most donations in their buckets will be pronounced as the winners. Other dance couples are asked to donate their buckets of cash to the arts council. Winners may either keep, or donate the winning amount of cash. A tip bucket will also be split with the band at the end of the concert.
The park will be decorated with a fall theme, most decorations will be for sale. There will be a table with a variety of pre-decorated pumpkins available for purchase. The traditional Chair-ity items such as: painted chairs, paintings and photographs of chairs will be for sale along with bracelets, and other art items. Pre-packaged snacks will be available in the form of water, sodas, and chips. Please bring cash and cards in support of the arts.
