Tonkawa will host unbeaten Blackwell at 7 p.m. this Friday. The talented Maroons have beaten OKC Patriots 51-0 and OBA last week 26-19.
“They’re better than Perry,” Buc Head Coach Mike Kirtley said this week. The Maroons run a spread offense and a 4-3 defense. “They’re a big play team, with a bevy of skill players,” Kirtley said. “And they have a great, talented quarterback in Worthy Shepherd.”
After opening with an impressive 49-14 win over Newkirk, the Bucs fell to Perry last week 26-39. “We’re our own worst enemy,” Kirtley said, “If we had played a clean game, we would have had a chance to win.”
